Educators Forum

IMPLEMENTING THE NEW BBS CURRICULUM:
Educating and Positioning MFTs for Public Mental Health

This program is a continuation, not a repetition, of the Forums that were held in 2008. Next steps in implementation of change will be addressed, including practical suggestions for “how to” begin the process.

The program will feature:

Surviving – and Perhaps Thriving Through—the Curriculum Changes.
  • CSUN Professor and author Diane Gehart, Ph.D, MFT: Presentation of a four phase developmental model that outlines how programs can move from initial confusion with the new curriculum requirements to thriving by integrating recovery- and public-mental health oriented training. Educators will also learn about resources and strategies for implementing the new content, including recovery-oriented treatment, community mental health, the evidence-based, and practicum requirements.
Panel Presentation: Getting Started – Sharing Our Process:
  • Panelists will be representatives from Northern CA MFT programs who will present and share their own efforts and process in the change process.
Workgroup Sessions: Envisioning Your Path:
